This past November I invested in myself, and went out to get an education! While walking down the halls of a loud smelly high school are thankfully behind me, I truly believe no matter our profession (but especially as creatives) we should never stop learning and pursuing that inspirations from our community. We can’t know it all! And getting to spend some time around others, who bloom in different strengths and expertise, is so important.
So, I packed my bags and headed to Brooklyn, New York, for my first North American workshop. The workshop, aptly named WRKSHP, hosted some of the biggest names in the wedding photography industry. It really was a whirlwind of a week in the big city. Not only was I able to take advantage of some great real couple, live shoots but I stood shoulder to shoulder, hearing & learning as the session unfolded, from some of the most amazing wedding photographers in the states, such as Phil Chester, Sara Byrne, and Lindsey Roman. Apart from the live shoots, my inspiration was peaked and motivation to dive deep into my business ignited, after hearing from such great speakers as Levi Tijerina on social justice and what it means to implement your beliefs as the backbone for your business. So much goodness in just a few days!
I also took the time to explore both cities and wander the streets in sunshine and rain, finding such beautiful colors and scenes, but also, the best vegan Chinese food of my life ( Buddha Bodai Kosher Vegetarian Restaurant )… It’s now been a few months, and I’m so pleased to be sharing this adventure with you finally.
