1 | Wear What You Feel Great in!
Sometimes we can get carried away thinking of new outfits to go shopping for, but the hard and fast rule is to pick some of your favorite outfits that are already in your closet and rock those pieces that make you feel great. Don’t be shy to ask your photog for advice, they’ve had their fair share of engagement sessions and really know what can work best, depending on your location, time of year and what vibe you are going for.

2 | Be You!
Your engagement photos are all about your love and who you are together. Getting to share this moment in time, is a great chance to document the start of your relationship. So when you think of the clothes you’ll be wearing to your session, chose pieces that really speak to how you feel, who you are on a day to day, and what you love. No need to reach for a crazy Milan runway outfit you want to put together. Your style is unique, in that only you have it! So embrace the you in your clothes and feel great in them.

3 | Avoid Clashing
Think classic and timeless. Try to avoid patterns or logos which can take attention away from the flow & atmosphere you are going for. Youll want to look back on these photos in years to come, and your outfits should stand the test of time. Karuna and Alistair embraced their chic, stylish back ground, while still keeping rocking simple, classic pieces, that complimented the color palette of their at-home session. Consider the environment and location you’ll have your engagement photos in too, and go from there!

Our Love Story
“We were best friends before anything started and so that has been the center of our relationship over the last 10 years – always laughing, enjoying each other’s company, keeping the lines of communication open. People are often surprised to find out we love spending so much of our time together, but it all comes back to the fact that we’re each other’s best friend. We’ve been through so much – the high highs and low lows- over the years and are truly each other’s support systems. Together we’ve graduated high school, moved and settled in a new country, started and graduated university, begun our careers, quit jobs, experienced loss, moved in together, and more than anything, we’re grateful our relationship has thrived through it all.

What We Wore Outfit Tips
Here’s some of our pointers that usually help us get dressed:
1) Decide on a color palette. There’s no pressure to match your outfits exactly but deciding on a few colors beforehand and staying within that range always helps keep the visual consistency.
2) Plan outfits by occasion or theme. Instead of separately selecting random outfits, we plan whether we are going for a certain vibe or aesthetic (casual, at-home, sophisticated/dressed up, etc) and plan our outfits in pairs
